Soon I will receive my new camera, the Panasonic DMC-FZ8. Like last year I am profiting from an end-of-year offer at my work. Then I bought the camera that has made all the pictures you can view at this blog. My new camera was little more expensive than I could actually afford, but considering the reduction and the refund I am expecting to receive from the IRS (taxes) I thought this camera was a one-time opportunity.
The FZ8’s main features (and mattering to me) are the 12x optical zoom (36 mm – 432 mm, 35 mm equivalent) and the manual controls. Combined with Panasonic latest imaging engine, Venus III, it should be a huge improvement over my present camera, the Panasonic DMC-LS2. I am looking forward to experimenting with it. Below you will find a video review made by cameralabs.com.
A more extensive review of the FZ8 can be found here: http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/PanasonicFZ8/index.shtml. I recommend you to visit their site. The reviews appear very professional to me.
